Josh Hotz, born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, has had a camera in his hands since he was 10 years old. Josh has been deeply engaged in the photographic documentation of skateboarding in North America, working for Canadian and American publications and brands since 2009. Josh has also earned recognition for his creativity as a portrait photographer and his ability to create innovative lighting solutions for challenging situations. 

    His wanderlust has brought him throughout the Eastern and Southern United States, Ontario, Quebec and the Middle East. He has been published in all of Canada's Skateboarding Magazines, including their Photo Annuals, as well as online by Hasselblad.com and Push.ca, as well as select American and UK publications.  His images have also appeared in advertising for several of skateboardings biggest brands and retail stores. He has also covered events for clients like Just For Laughs, Canadian Comedy Awards, Amnesia Rockfest, Bluesfest, Legacy Canada, and the National Convenience Stores Distributors Association Awards.

    His work belongs to several private collections, as well as exhibited in group exhibitions at venues in New York City, the United Kingdom, and Ottawa where he held a solo show.
